ALIENS TO ATTACK EARTH IN NOVEMBER! (UPDATE)

aliens_update

Three giant alien spaceships are getting closer Earth! They are on track to strike Earth on November 27th, 2011.
As reported previously by WWN, three giant spaceships are headed for earth and are on track to arrive here on November 27th, 2012.
Experts with the U.N. Panel on Extraterrestrials have been monitoring the progress of these alien spaceships.  Last Friday they detected a warning shot fired by one of the spaceships. The shot appeared as several bright flashes of laser-powered energy and they were aimed directly at our Moon.
“It passed right by Jupiter on May 23rd.  If you were looking up in the southwestern sky on May 20th – the day of the new moon – you could see five enormous flashes of blue light,” said Dr. Nirmal Bappu, a world-renowned astronomer and expert on extraterrestrial spaceships.
A number of professional astronomers say they can not detect the ships anywhere near Mars, even with powerful optical telescopes.  “That is because you have to be trained to see these spaceships.  They are not fixed objects moving in a normal pattern.  At times they appear to be asteroids, at other times they appear to be comets or space dust.  These are advanced alien warships capable of transforming their physical form.”
How do the scientists  know that the warning shots were fired from the spaceships?
“We’ve been monitoring all objects in space within 50,000 miles of the  spaceships and logging data.  We have advanced alien spaceship tracking programs that relay all information about a spaceship and it’s activities.”
The U.N. Panel on Extraterrestrials, working with top scientists from NASA and members of SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) have  been following the spaceships since December of 2011.   At first they weren’t sure what the three objects were, though some speculated that they were alien spaceships.  In March of 2011, they  confirmed that they are from Planet Gootan, which is just outside our Milky Way.”
The spaceships were detected by HAARP search system. The system, based in Alaska, was designed to study the phenomenon of northern lights. According to SETI researchers, the objects are extraterrestrial spaceships. Wikileaks  released documents between top-level government officials (around the world) discussing the upcoming alien attack.
The Wikileaks documents prove that world governments have been colluding to cover-up alien activity for well over fifty years. They also reveal detailed information about the three giant spaceships and the ongoing alien invasion.
WWN spoke to Dr. John Malley, the top extraterrestrial expert on the U.N. Panel on Extraterrestrials and a top Chinese extraterrestrial expert, Mao Kan, about the three ships.
“They are still  following the same course and are projected to hit the target date,” Malley said.  “Governments around the world are making preparations out of the public  eye.  The spaceships were first believed to be from Planet Zeeba, which is known to be a more docile planet, but we now are one hundred percent sure they are from Gootan, known to be much more hostile.”
“We do not want to alarm anyone, but we all must prepare for this alien encounter.  Just because the Gootans are known to be hostile, they may be coming here for other purposes, which we can not know, or do not even have the capacity to know.”
Protective bunkers are being built across the globe – just  in case there isa fierce battle with the alien spaceships.  WWN has learned that the bunkers in the United States are being built in Nebraska, Alaska and somewhere in New Jersey.

UNILAG STUDENTS SHUT DOWN SCHOOL,STUDENTS ON RAMPAGE

The University of Lagos, Akoka, southwest Nigeria, was this morning shut for two weeks by the authorities of the institution following protests by the students against President Goodluck Jonathan’s decision to rename the institution after the late icon of democracy, Moshood Kashimawo Abiola.
•UNILAG students protesting this morning.
The closure is to allow normalcy to be restored in the university after the students took to the streets again today following yesterday’s protest.
As at the time of filing this report, the aggrieved students had barricaded all roads leading to the main campus, thereby paralysing academic and business activities on and around the campus. The main entrance of the institution was also under lock and key.
The protesting students also blocked some parts of the Third Mainland Bridge.
Policemen have been drafted to the campus gate to ensure the protest did not turn out to be violent.
Speaking with P.M.NEWS at the scene of the protest this morning, Ugbegbe Osamudiamen, a 200-level student of Economics, said the protest will continue until President Jonathan listens to their yearning.
“If Jonathan knows that he is truly democratically elected President of Nigeria, he should have a rethink and leave this institution as Unilag. There are other ways he can honour MKO even on this campus, not changing the name of the school entirely,” Ogbegbe said.
Other students who spoke to P.M.NEWS also opined that the Unilag Sports Complex, Senate building and some hostels could have been named after MKO.
“The President can even build another good hostel and name it after MKO, nobody will protest, but this decision he has made is a misplaced priority,”” another student, Adeleke Yemi noted.
During his Democracy Day speech yesterday, the president had said that the institution will now be called Moshood Abiola University, but the decision was promptly greeted by stiff opposition from the students, lecturers and other staff of Unilag who took to the streets in large numbers to show their grievances.
The protest started from hostels in the school before hundreds of the students gathered and proceeded to the streets, where they caused stampede at the ever busy Ikorodu Road and its environs yesterday.
The students described the president’s decision as an unpopular one, stressing that out of the numerous lapses facing his government, renaming Unilag is an unnecessary development.
“Well, we are not against the fact that he is trying to immortalise Abiola, what we are saying is that there are other popular ways he could have done that. Besides, we smell foul play because it is very obvious that Mr. President is simply doing this in a bit to get sympathy support from Southwest people for his second term bid. But this will only make things worse,” a student who identified himself as Jide Adeyinka said.
The protesting students, who vowed not to relent until President Jonathan reverts his decision reiterated that the decision shouldn’t have even come at this time when the institution is still mourning its late Vice Chancellor, Professor Babatunde Shofoluwe.
A senior lecturer of the institution who craved anonymity told our reporter that “it is unfortunate. There is a need for the president to have a rethink, though we have told the students to be calm.”
The institution’s alumni association has also rejected the unlawful name change. The association’s National President, Professor Olayide Abass, and the National Secretary, Femi Oladimeji, in a joint statement published in a national daily today rejected the name, describing it as inappropriate.
In the statement titled: ‘UNILAG Alumni Association Rejects Proposed Change Of Name,’ the group said:
“The National Executive Committee on behalf of all members of the University of Lagos Alumni Association, the students and the entire University Community reject the shocking announcement by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan during his democracy day address renaming the University of Lagos as Moshood Abiola University.
“The University of Lagos is the first University to be established by an Act of Federal Parliament in 1962 and has built a strong brand name in its 50 years. That is why it is the University of first choice and the nation’s pride. We expect that any change in name should have taken stakeholders’ interest into consideration and followed due process. We are aware that neither the Governing Council nor the University Senate nor any other stakeholder was consulted before the change was announced.
“Also, we are not aware of any act of the National Assembly to change the name. It is therefore inappropriate that Mr. President will attempt to change the name of a 50 year-old without his consent.
“Did Abiola himself not say ‘you cannot shave a man’s head in his absence?’
“Without prejudice to the person of the late Chief MKO Abiola, we the Alumni Association on behalf of the entire University Community reject the name as announced.”
The university’s Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Dr. Karo Ogbinaka said today that the decision is undemocratic.
“We are behind our students in this protest. It is a pity that Jonathan wants to destroy one of the best brands of universities in Africa. We won’t accept that name,” he said. Prof. Akinfeleye described the name change as a political miscalculation, while the Civil Liberties Organisation, CLO, said Jonathan’s action was an abuse of power.

Nearly a fifth of U.S. PCs have no virus protection

The McAfee study found more than one-sixth of the world's PCs lack basic antivirus protection

A McAfee study of PCs around the world found that 17 percent had no antivirus protection, and the U.S. outpaced the average with 19 percent of PCs unprotected.
The study counted as unprotected machines those that had no antivirus protection installed, or whose antivirus subscription had expired. In the U.S., 12 percent of PCs did not contain any antivirus program, and 7 percent had software that was expired.
McAfee analyzed data from voluntary scans of 27 million machines in 24 countries. According to the company, the study was the first to examine machines directly rather than polling their users. User polls have typically found that six percent of PCs are not protected by antivirus software, Gary Davis, McAfee's director of global consumer product marketing, said.
"People know it's politically correct to run antivirus," Davis explained. In some cases, they may believe their software subscription is still active when in fact it has expired.
PCs in Finland, Italy, New Zealand, Germany and Denmark were most likely to be protected, the study found. Those in Singapore, Spain, Mexico, Japan, and the United States were least likely to have active antivirus protection.
"We thought for sure the U.S. and Japan would be at top of protected countries, but they were actually at the bottom," said Davis.
Spain had the highest percentage of PCs without any installed security protection at 16 percent. Singapore had the least secure computers as well as the highest percentage of users with disabled security protection with 12 percent.
User education may help reduce the number of unprotected machines, Davis said. Updates to Windows 8, which requires active antivirus protection, may also help, he said.

Microsoft Launches New Social Network To Compete With Google

In the shadow of a week (and weekend) filled with Facebook-related news, Microsoft has quietly launched its own social network that has been in development for almost a year. This social network, called So.cl, is said to help students connect with one another – a concept that early adopters of Facebook know well (and often miss).
However, it’s clear So.cl is not designed to compete with Facebook. Microsoft says So.cl (pronounced “social”) “is an experimental research project, developed by Microsoft’s FUSE Labs, focused on exploring the possibilities of social search for the purpose of learning.” The primary focus of So.cl is helping “people find and share interesting web pages in the way students do when they work together” by combining social networking and search.
Microsoft is sneaky in the way they present the focus of So.cl, which seems to be designed specifically for students. However, it’s clear that Microsoft is attempting to take a swing at Google‘s social network, Google+, which is also designed to combine social and search. To differentiate the two, Microsoft (seemingly) focuses on a niche of users (students), and also encourages users to share data a little differently by creating “montages of visual web content.”
Microsoft even goes as far as to say they expect students to use other social networks such as Facebook in addition to So.cl.  The reality is, though, that anyone can sign up to use So.cl. Currently, Microsoft has partnered with schools (including University of Washington, Syracuse University, and New York University) but “anyone can participate in the FUSE Labs research community,” which includes the So.cl project. Signing up for the So.cl social network is as easy as (and somewhat ironically) connecting your Facebook account.
Even if Microsoft is feigning its focus on students for the sake of user acquisition, the outlook for So.cl doesn’t look good either way. Google has tried painfully hard for this combination to succeed with Google+, and despite Google dominating the market share in search, barely anyone is really using Google+. At the same time, Facebook didn’t exactly fail by extending its reach beyond the initial batch of college kids. Are there lessons to be learned from each of these companies anyway?
For the sake of those at Microsoft that may have otherwise wasted days, weeks, months, and possibly years of their careers on So.cl – let’s hope so

Google, Alert: Bing Wants "To Model Every Object On The Planet," Reinvent Search

The future of search is not about page rank. It's about creating giant databases of every person, place, and thing on the planet.
Today Bing is announcing a revamp of its front end, to make its search results more useful for users. But what's much more interesting is what's happening on the back end, underneath the hood, as Microsoft re-architects how the data used for search results is collected, stored, and repurposed. "We decided we needed to reinvent search,” Bing director Stefan Weitz tells Fast Company. Is that all? When Google was created over a decade ago, the Internet was basically a set of pages. Google's innovation was to develop a system that would locate what pages existed on the Internet and then determine how relevant each was to specific keywords. For that, it created an architecture of "indexing” and "ranking” pages. Thus was Google's famous search algorithm born. Bing, however, believes the approach of indexing and ranking pages is no longer sufficient. Helping people find answers shouldn't just be about pointing you to documents elsewhere and making you do the work of clicking over and figuring out if they have the information you need. Instead, Bing thinks search should be more about helping you get things done right in the search results themselves. In cases where they can reasonably predict what you're trying to accomplish, search should provide widgets in the results that let you get the job done. For example, if you enter the keywords "The Avengers Chicago,” it's reasonable to assume you're looking for movie show times. Why not post a list of show times right in the results, instead of making you click over to a page of moving listings? (See: Bing to Lap Google in Making Search an App?)
But to provide that level of service, a simple list of pages on the Internet isn't enough. You need a whole different kind of database on the back end. And that's what Bing is working on creating.

"Our goal is to model every object on the planet,” Weitz says. So far the company has compiled a database of 300 million objects, from computer mice to buildings. As Bing's bots crawl the web, they identify pages that have information about those objects. And then they use that information to develop an understanding of what kinds of things people might want to do with that object.
"We're literally no longer indexing text,” Weitz says. "We're trying to associate data that exists on the web in all forms with the physical object that spawned it in the first place.”
The goal is to use the understandings they're gathering, and the data they're collecting, to identify and build the kinds of apps for search results that will help you accomplish tasks without making you click over to a second page.
"It's so important for us to understand the object layer of the web because that tells us what actions people can perform on it,” Weitz says. "So suddenly, you go from asking a question like, ‘Where do I buy a mouse?'… to knowing that there are different applications that can fulfill that request.”

Google, of course, is also working on this problem. Back in March, a Google executive told the Wall Street Journal the company had compiled a similar, massive encyclopedia of "entities,” or people, places, and things.
And they're not the only ones. Facebook reportedly is also compiling a database of things that people talk about and share on the social network. And Apple's Siri is also working on the problem, so it can understand the questions users ask it.
All of which is to say that a massive game change is waiting in the wings in the search business. And it won't just affect the search competitors as they race to develop the most powerful models. It will also affect the SEO industry that has spent the past decade trying to master page rank. The more the search engines create apps to help people accomplish tasks right in the results, the fewer referrals they'll be making to outside pages.

Google: From search engine to Car engine-Car that drives itself

Google surprised the automotive world with the recent announcement that the company has produced its own fleet of driverless Toyota Priuses. The company says that its cars have driven themselves for 140,000 miles—with a driver in the seat, just in case—making Google's fleet the most thoroughly tested autonomous cars to date. Considering that the first DARPA competition in 2004 ended without any of the competitors finishing the 150-mile course, the technology is moving fast.

Partially autonomous cars are closer than you think; in fact, they're already here. The 2011 Infiniti M56 uses forward-looking radar to track the car ahead and cameras to detect lane boundaries. It automatically maintains the gap to the car in front—with the brakes and throttle—and can also use a single wheel brake to nudge a drifting car back into the lane's center.

"We are building the blocks for autonomous vehicles," Nady Boules, the director of GM's Electrical and Control Integration lab and a member of the team that won the 2007 DARPA competition with a driverless Chevy Tahoe, recently told PM, "In ten years we'll have the technology for autonomous vehicles well in hand."

Digital maps and onboard computing power are already up to the task, but the accuracy and robustness of the sensors needed to determine the car's position and the obstacles around it require further development. Current commercial-grade GPS is only accurate to a couple of yards and it needs to be down to the inch level. The laser and radar sensors and vision systems require higher resolution and must get smaller in size before they're suitable for production cars.

Until those inevitable improvements arrive, our cars will gradually take control. Automated steering is on the horizon—electrically assisted steering already compensates for road crown and crosswinds—which will enable computer-controlled highway lane changes and accident avoidance. The challenge for the automakers that offer these systems will be keeping the driver engaged. "Until the car is fully autonomous, the driver is ultimately responsible," Boules says, "Part of the research is figuring out how to keep the driver from taking a nap."

Vehicular autopilot will be useful even without vehicle-to-vehicle technology, which broadcasts a car's speed, position and braking to increase safety. V2V is only useful if every car on the road has it, and that will simply take too long. Once V2V is ubiquitous, however, autonomous cars will be able to shed some of the sensors, reducing the cost.

The safety benefits of the automotive autopilot are obvious, but the autonomous car can also increase transportation efficiency and reduce congestion. And maybe one day we'll be surfing the Web as our car takes us to work.

Design Websites and Make Money With them ( + 5 free webhost providers)

If you are really serious about making money on the internet, you must get yourself a blog or a website. You can start with free ones and upgrade as time passes by. With a free blog or website, you can easily start making money with Google and even use it for promoting your affiliate links, your ebooks etc which in turn will be making you some money. As a newbie, am sure you might want to ask "how do I make a website and how do I make money with it?” The answer is pretty simple.

I am ready to take you by the hand, upgrade you from a JJC to an internet guru. I am sure you will like this. Well, you too have to be ready to learn and put into practice, whatever you learn. Practice makes perfection.

Below is a step by step tutorial on how you can create your own free online website to make money online. Lets get started.

1. Choose Your Web Host

For your website to be accessible by anyone anywhere in the world, you will need a hosting provider also called a web hosting company. There are free ones while there are some who will ask you to pay certain amount before they can help you host your website on the internet. Though, for serious businesses, free website will not make sense but If you are a newbie, START WITH A FREE ONE. After mastering how websites really work you can then go for the paid ones. Have you seen a driving school that uses Hummer Jeep to train people how to drive a car?..Think about it.

A free web host will allow you to create your website completely free using a sub-domain of course. A sub-domain is a domain name in the form of www.YOURNAME.yourwebhostname.com If you pay for your website, obviously, you will be able to get a domain name in the form of www.YOURNAME.com

Below is a couple of free well known hosting providers, which allows you to create your very website completely free.
1. Blogger : a free blogging platform which you can easily set up within 5 minutes.
2. Bravenet : loads of free webmaster tools for your website project, in addition to free web space
3. 000webhost
4. ByteHost free forum, free tech support, MySQL databases & PHP support
5. 50Webs

These are just some of the great free hosting providers that will provide you the disk space you need to easily start your own website and be able to display advertisements to make money (I will talk about this later). If you are a newbie, you can be using free hosting sites to learn how websites work before starting your very own serious website.

2. Choose a Web Template

As each day passes by, technology makes life easier. Gone are the days that you must master a lot of codes before you can design a website. Today, there are lots of already designed websites out there. All you need to do is just to apply some changes to them and your website will be ready within a few minutes. We call such ready-made websites WEB TEMPLATES and if they are blogs, they are known as BLOG TEMPLATES.

These templates are what some hungry marketers sell for some people, making series of hype like CREATE YOUR WEBSITE IN 3 MINUTES AND MAKE $1000 WITH IT WITHIN 24 HOURS etc...Wonders shall never end...loads of such hypes out there. Just shine your eyes!

There are lots of free web templates you can use on the internet, though you must still posses some web-design skills for you to be able to edit them BUT THERE IS JUST NO BIG DEAL IN WEB DESIGN. The big deal is in web development (I will talk about this later). So, FEAR NOT.

Choosing a web template can be rather hard. When deciding which best fits your website, you must already have an idea of what you want your website to be about, because if you made a site dedicated to computers, and your web template is based on animals design, would that really make sense to you?

Most of the web hosts provide free templates. After signing up with any of the web hosts, login into your account, look around and you should be able to see a link pointing to WEB TEMPLATES. Follow the link and choose the template you want, edit it and within a few minutes your website will be ready for the whole world to see.

If you are in need of free web templates you can download to your PC, go to Google and inside the search box, type "free web templates" and filter through the results to get what you want.

Below are some other free sources that give away free templates for you to use for the respective platforms, free of charge.

Blogger Template Sources:

1. bTemplates.com
2. eBlogTemplates.com
3. BlogSkin.com

Joomla Template Sources:

1. JoomlaTP.com
2. BestofJoomla.com
3. SiteGround.com

If you are a blogspot blogger, you can check out MY BLOGGING TRICKS ARTICLES.

3. Build Your Website

After setting up your website with your hosting provider and have chosen the template of your choice, you can then simply add content to your website. Content is the most important key to building up a good website or blog that can both provide users the information they are looking for and at the same time make you money.

Without content, your site is of no value to anyone and I doubt if you will be able to make a dime with it. If you are running a blog, be sure that the topic you are writing about is something you will always love writing on. Adding some great stuffs, such as widgets and tools to your websites are great in terms of adding more value to your website. The more complete your site looks, the more valuable it becomes. Bravenet offers some free webmaster tools you will like. Check it out! If you are running a blogspot blog, blogger is already loaded with loads of widgets to choose from. Just feel free to explore.

There are many tools you can use to build your website. I started designing websites with Microsoft Frontpage, though I now use Dreamweaver for most of my projects. You can easily get Microsoft Frontpage from any computer store around you. With it, you will be able to easily edit your website, add content to it and also upload it to the internet.

Once you have added some valuable content to your website, move on to the next step. Make sure it is of great quality because your content will determine whether or not visitors will come back to your website.

4. Start Promoting Your Website

Without people visiting your web site, your site will be like a burial ground. Please, make sure you already have some good contents on your site before ever thinking of promoting it. If you tell me about your website and decided to check, only to find out that it is nothing, other than a dessert ,do you think I will ever come back to the website again? This is a big mistake a lot of newbies make and are still making....

With the way you are enjoying this article now, I am very sure you will love to come back and read this blog again another day, isn't it?... I can see you nodding your head now...saying YES, I WILL. Smiles** I hope you can grab the gist. LOAD YOUR SITE/BLOG WITH CONTENTS FIRST BEFORE EVER THINKING OF PROMOTING IT.

In webmaster language, getting people to visit and read your website simple means getting WEB TRAFFIC to your site. There are many ways you can drive traffic to your website free of charge (I will be talking extensively on this later).

Below is a list of few great sources of online traffic.

1. Social Networks eg Facebook, Myspace, Twitter
2. Forums eg Nairaland, Warrior Forum etc
3. Commenting
4. Search Engines

I have been using the free sources to promote my blogs and websites and they have been working for me. I believe you can see some of the statistics of this blog on the sidebar.

Please, shine your eyes before you waste your money on those traffic exchangers or sites that will promise to give your site traffic after paying some money. Most of the time the traffic is of little worth and the exchanges is just a time waster. BEWARE!

5. Monetize Your Website

This is where the money comes rolling in. Once you have set up your website with good content and HAVE ATTRACTED A LOT OF READERS, you will be able to easily make money from the website. Take it or leave it, if you have thousands of good articles on your blog or website and no one knows about it , you might not make a cent with the website. This is what forces some bloggers to be engaging in CLICK FRAUDS, clicking on their adsense ads by themselves all just to make money, since no one is coming to their blog to click for them. In the long run, they get caught by Google and Google ban them, loosing whatever tey might have earned. NEVER TRY TO CLICK ON YOUR ADS.

Load your website with good contents, PROMOTE IT OVER AND OVER. With time, you will start having loyal readers and along the line, you will be making money out of them while they too will be benefiting from things they are getting from your website. Readers get valuable information. Writers get a bit of income. THIS IS THE SECRET BEHIND THE SUCCESS OF MY BLOG, SO FAR.

You can make money from your website or blog through:

1. advertising for people
2. affiliate links
3. sales of products eg ebooks.
4. leads
5. Google ads placement etc

These are just a tip of the iceberg. There are many ways you can make money with your website. All websites have different methods that work best for their own particular website. You just have to find out which works best for your site on your own to maximize it’s true potential income to make money.

That's all for now. So get Started, create your first website and feel free to share the link with me using the comment from below. This way, I will easily be able to help you with some useful tips that can make it look better.

Google+ Social Network....Everything you need to know

Google+ is the hot Social Network created by Google to rival Facebook. Google launched Google+ on June 28, 2011. Google chose the name Google+ because it wants Google+ to be “an extension of Google itself,” Gundotra explained to Mashable days before the launch. Today, I have decided to share with you a complete guide on Google+. It is an extensive guide on all of Google+’s key features, as well as an introduction to the service and the important things you need to know about it.

In the guide, you will learn more about Google+ and its features. These features include Stream (a newsfeed), Sparks (a recommendation engine), Hangouts (a video chat service), Circles (a friend management service) and Photos.
You will also see screenshots and video explanation of Google+. The Guide is enough to get you started with Google+ if you are a beginner. Even advanced users can miss a lot of the little gems and nuances that define Google+, hence will also find the guide very useful. In addition, Mashable will update this guide regularly with the newest information on Google’s Facebook competitor.
